Questions members frequently ask about Business Debit CardsWhat is the Business Debit Card?Your NuUnion Business Debit Card is a faster, more convenient way to make business purchases at stores, online, by mail, and over the phone. You can also use it at ATMs to make deposits and withdrawals 24 hours a day. Each time you use the card, the transaction is posted to your NuUnion Business Checking Account. Is a Business Debit Card a credit card? No. Think of it as an ATM card that gives you access to your Business Checking Account anytime you need it. With its MasterCard® connection, your NuUnion Business Debit Card is accepted at millions of locations in most countries. Can I change my Personal Identification Number (PIN)?Yes. You can change your PIN right at select NuUnion ATMs or visiting any NuUnion branch for assistance. Does overdraft protection cover purchases made with my Business Debit Card?Yes. If the funds aren't available in your Business Checking Account at the time of purchase, but your business has set up overdraft protection, the transaction(s) will be processed, and funds will be automatically transferred from your Savings Account. There's a fee of $10 per day when overdraft protection is used, regardless of the number of electronic transactions. Where will the Business Debit Card activity show up?All cash and purchase transactions appear on your monthly Business Checking Account statement, which includes the transaction date, amount, and merchant name. Can I get additional cards for my employees?A card can be provided to each authorized employee listed on your Business Checking Account. Can a Business Debit Card be used for personal transactions? No. A Business Debit Card is for business transactions on your Business Checking Account only. What is the difference between a debit and credit transaction? There are two types of Debit Card transactions: debit (Personal Identification Number or PIN) and credit (signature). When you pay for a purchase, the clerk will ask "debit or credit?" When you reply "debit" to the clerk, you must enter your PIN after the card has been swiped through a point of sale terminal. With PIN transactions, funds are withdrawn from your Business Checking Account when the transaction occurs. When you reply "credit" to the clerk, it becomes a signature transaction. Instead of providing your PIN, you sign a slip to verify the transaction (unless it was made via telephone, mail, or the Internet). With a signature transaction, funds are held in your Business Checking Account at the time of purchase until the transaction posts to your account in one to three days. How do I return merchandise purchased with my Business Debit Card?If you return an item, take your cash register receipt and the debit transaction receipt with you. The purchase price will be credited to your Business Checking Account. It may take a few days for the amount to be credited. Does my Business Debit Card have spending limits?Your Card has a spending limit of $3,000 per day. Can I use my card at any ATM?Your NuUnion Business Debit Card gives you access to your funds at NuUnion ATMs and any ATM that accepts cards from MasterCard®, NYCE, Alliance One, Co-Op networks, or other machines that carry the logos found on the back of your card. How much cash can I withdraw at an ATM?You can withdraw up to $500 per day, provided the funds are available in your account. What if my Business Debit Card is lost, stolen, or has unauthorized use?Report any loss or unauthorized use to NuUnion immediately. Unlike your personal debit and credit cards, a Business Debit Card does not have limited liability with unauthorized use. |
